Transparent Latex Trench Coat

A coat you can see through. It is the most public thing we make and the boldest, because it is worn over everything else and hides none of it.

Full length, belted at the waist, cut like a proper trench. From across the street it reads as outerwear. Up close the joke lands: the collar, the belt, the whole grammar of a respectable coat, rendered in clear latex. Whatever you wear underneath becomes part of the outfit instead of being covered by it.

Wear it over the black set and it is a statement. Wear it over almost nothing and it is a different statement entirely. It also does the one thing a raincoat is supposed to do, which nobody expects it to.

What you get: the coat on its own. Everything worn under it in the photographs consists of separate pieces from our shop and is not included in the price.

Latex: natural latex, 0.4 mm. Light enough to move in all evening, heavy enough to hold its shine and its shape.

Colours: shown in clear transparent. We can also make it in black, red, pink, baby pink, olive, royal blue and turquoise, though the transparent version is the one this coat was designed for.

The size fits in 99 orders out of 100. That is what making every piece to measure buys you. If yours turns out to be the exception, write to us and we work it out together: we either remake the piece for you or refund it.

Putting latex on: take it slowly, a little at a time. A dusting of talc on your skin first makes it glide instead of grip. Clear latex picks up marks from dark surfaces, so hang it on its own and keep it away from newsprint and untreated leather.
